As 1st AD, responsible for the preparation of the shooting schedule and script breakdown used to plan the shooting. Works directly with the Director to manage the minute-to-minute operations on the set during the process of filming, as well as coordinating the necessary communication of details of future operations as the filming progresses. Other duties include tracking the progress of filming versus the production schedule, observing all rules related to agreements, maintaining safety on the working set, and working with the Unit Manager to keep operational costs within the budgeted plan.As 2nd AD, responsible for information distribution and reporting, cast notification and preparations during the shooting process, recording of all data relative to the working hours of the crew and cast, management of the background cast (atmosphere or "extras"), preparation of call sheets, production reports, and other documentation.
As Floor Manager im the Director's representative on the studio floor, and responsible for giving instruction and direction to crew, cast and barking orders to keep a production moving to schedule and always in direct contact with the Director via talkback in the gallery.
As Assistant Floor Manager im responsible for setting a stage and prompting contributors on the studio floor and ensuring that everyone knows their place in the script, freeing the Floor Manager for other duties. Often oversee a team of Runners as well as setting and resetting the action on the studio floor.
