DESCRIPTION: Born in the UK in 1969, living in South Africa for the past 25. The introduction of a Sony Betamax Video camera in the Meadows household kicked off my budding career. Wherever possible I’d be filming a family expose (much to their frustration) or dodgy dramatic short. My professional life began at 18 working on film productions as production assistant and rising to the position camera assistant over 2 years. This led to a stint in advertising with McCann Erickson in London for 2 years as production manager and inserts director on major Coca Cola campaigns. Sick of the grey weather, I moved back to South Africa and did a spell with the national broadcaster, SABC, as a writer and producer on a number of popular shows. Needing to get back behind the camera drove me to create Incubate Productions, a boutique production house and agency dealing in moving pictures. I have directed and been DoP on a large number of corporate and broadcast productions, as well as commercials, including ads for Disney Pixar and Ster-Kinekor. I work throughout Africa, having filmed corporate and documentary productions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania and Kenya. My strengths are an ability to connect with people, create beautiful visual solutions from brief, to think out of the box and get the best out people (be they crew, actors, presenters and interviewees).
